Medico Legal

I have been involved in medico-legal work since starting as a consultant in 2011.

I write reports on all aspects of general orthopaedic trauma surgery, but have a special interest in complex lower limb trauma surgery, pelvic & acetabular fractures and amputations. This fits with my NHS practice, which deals almost exclusively with complex orthopaedic trauma.

Medico-legal Experience

I undertook over 150 personal injury medicolegal reports last year.

In recent years a large proportion of my instructions are related to pelvic and acetabular fractures, complex lower limb injuries, amputations and patients who have sustained multiple injuries.

I still regularly treat, as well as report on patients sustaining single limb injuries.

I DO NOT prepare reports on whiplash, spinal injuries or back pain.

My ratio of claimant to defendant work is approximately 80:20.

I also report on around 10 clinical negligence cases per year.
